Vivo launches Vivo Y36 with 50 megapixel camera, 44W fast charger

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched Vivo Y36 smartphone with octa-core Snapdragon 680 SoC. 4G and 5G versions are already available for sale. It will replace the Vivo Y35 that was launched last year. The 4G version has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The company has not provided any information about the specifications of the 5G version of the Y36.

The company has launched this smartphone in Indonesia at a price of IDR 33,99,000 (approximately Rs 18,700). It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Its storage can be expanded up to 1 TB using an external SD card. Dual Nano SIM slots have been provided. The dual rear camera unit has a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel sensor. It has a 16 megapixel camera above the front display.

The Vivo Y36 packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W wired charging. The company says it can charge up to 30 percent in 15 minutes. It has a fingerprint scanner on the side for security. Connectivity options include GPS, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Its size is 164.06mm x 76.17mm x 8.07mm and its weight is 202 grams. This week Vivo has slashed the prices of select variants of the Y100 and Y100A smartphones in India. After this, the price of 8GB + 128 GB variant of vivo Y100 has been reduced to Rs 23,999 and 8 GB + 256 GB Y100A has been reduced to Rs 25,999.
